News!
Retro Gamer, publisher of some of my dubious ramblings, appears
to have collapsed.
That'd
be a pain, then.
Fortunately
as I jumped over the side, the good ship Edge was sailing
past, so I'm now in the lucky position of writing The Making
of... column semi-regularly.
Oh,
and don't forget Retro
Survival, the Retro Gamer freelances' lifeboat. Metaphor
shatteringly, I'm in there too. The definitive history of Novagen
may well see the light of day after all.
News!
We've updated some pages with more hollow promises. Proper update
still planned for some time this millenium. Crass commercialism
has also reared its inevitable, yet lucrative, head in the form
of inappropriate banner ads from Google. Why the hell is this
page's ad in Chinese? Gah.
News!
We've added some new Develop! articles written by
Andy to the appropriate page.
Self-referentially, we've updated the News page
too.
Hello!
Do come in. Sorry about mess, the site's being
revamped as we speak and there's soot and broken
links all over the place.
Shall I answer a few quick questions while we're
here. OK, fair enough. Who are we? Ah, well good
question. We're a games company. Vague, huh.
Well, yes. More detail, you say. Hmm, well were a
group of people with an interest in all forms of
games, and even some skills related to making
them (designers, artists, programmers, writers
but clearly not web-designers). We've even got
some awards between us, and not just cycling
proficiency either.
We don't limit ourselves to games for one format,
for example we're currently working on board
games, card games, handheld games and mobile
phone games. We also have an interest in
improving games generally, in games theory and
like to write about games. Have a look in our
articles section if you like. Well, when we've
finished the website. We like to use the theory
in the design of games, and will talk about how
we've gone about a particular design in an
incredibly vain and pompous fashion as though
some of you out there might be interested.
We do like to keep the production part short and
sweet, as some of us have day jobs working on
long and complex titles, so our stuff tend to be
pretty simple, and therefore (hopefully) cheap.
That's all there is to say about us for now, I
suppose. If you want to get in contact with us
email is the best way, so just drop us a line at,
